George R. Kalal

George R. Kalal, Army Veteran. Loving father of Ken Kalal, Steven (Gretchen) Kalal, Laura Radke, and the late David Kalal. Cherished grandfather of Rob, Katie (Brad) Dale, John, Mark, Tony, Rachel, and Jack. Great grandfather of Kaleb, Kameron, Charlie, Emma, and Journey. Dearest brother of late Dorothy Polek. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Former husband of Barbara Kalal. Prior to his retirement George worked for Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories. He was the President of Oak Trace resident advocacy group and former president of Darien Lakes HOA. George was a huge White Sox and Bears fan, he also loved taking trips to the Boat (Casinos). George collected can pop tops for Ronald McDonald House. He was a "character", able to "talk to a blade of grass" and was great at telling dad jokes.
Memorial Visitation January 8th, 2025 from 9:00am until time of Memorial Service at 12:00pm at Modell Funeral Home 7710 South Cass Avenue, Darien. Interment Abraham Lincoln Veteran Cemetery.
