George Kiakis Obituary
George Francis Kiakis Jr, 67, of Morris, passed away Tuesday January 21, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital. George was born on March 19, 1957, in Holyoke, Massachusetts and is survived by his father George Sr. On June 24, 1978, he married the love of his life Debbie Shutts.
George served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years and in the National Guard for 19 years.
George worked as a quality assurance auditor at KDP in Waterbury, Vermont, retiring in 2022. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. George was a member of the Laurens American Legion, where he loved to cook.
George is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughter, Amanda (Shane) Finch; daughter, Nicole (Mike) Hoyt; grandchildren, Aidain, Ryan, Makenzie, Grady, Keenan and Payton. George was truly devoted to family.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street, Morris, NY 13808.

I didn't know my Uncle George. Much but from what my grandma told me he was a good man. I do know when I was born he came and visited me in the hospital. I do wish i got to know him better than just the stories i remember getting told. My condolences to my Aunt Debbie and my cousins. I am very sorry for your lost.

I remember the time my brother George stopped by to see our dad Tyler was a baby and when George was holding him Tyler was so confused the faces he was making we couldn't help but laugh because dad and him look so much alike he wanted to know how grandpa was holding him but standing next to him.
Debbie, Amanda & Nichole i am so sorry for your loss love and prayers always in my heart and thoughts love you.

George was a brother to 1 older sister and 6 younger siblings. And was truly loved by his mother, who pre-deceased him. He was an honorable soldier who served his country well.
