George Robert Lambert, 73, of Wooster, died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at his residence.
George was born February 2, 1950 in Ashland, Ohio to Leslie Lelin and Ruth Carlene {Brennan} Lambert.
He graduated from the University of Akron and Malone College. George served in the US Navy as an Aviation Quartermaster from 1968 to 1972.
He married Peggy Turner on May 6, 1973. She survives.
George retired as Global Repair Manager after 39 years of employment at Diebold Inc. After retirement and until his death, he taught workforce development courses for Business Training and Educational Services at Ohio State ATI. George was an avid Golfer who also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors with whatever the project might be. George was known for his compassion and great sense of humor.
George will be deeply missed by his wife; sons Seth (Brandy) Lambert of FL, Kelly Lambert of Wooster; grandchildren Emma Dawn Lambert and Beverly Grace Lambert of FL; brother John (Jill) Lambert of Ashland and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
George was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Thursday, May 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Mass will be held Friday at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rich Samide officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Have so many fond memories of George his family use to come to my grandparents alot George's Dad Uncle Les was my Grandpa's brother. George and John were quite the funny guys. Always entertaining. George always stayed in touch eith every one and always made that extra effort. He will be so very missed. Thanks for the memories George. Love you big guy.
