George Lapinsky

George Lapinsky of Marco Island, Florida. 86, died peacefully on June 10, 2025. He was predeceased by his wife Alice and daughter Catherine "Cathe" McDowell. He is survived by his sons Michael of California, Andrew and his wife Lisa of New Hampshire, and his beloved grandchildren Matthew and Sarah.
In his younger years, he attended the New Mexico School of Mines where he developed his passion for collecting minerals. Later, he took pride in his educational achievement as a fellow of reproductive physiology at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology. He worked in insurance for over 30 years before retiring early to a lake house in Lovell, Maine where he could be found almost every day on Kezar Lake in his boat fishing. When he wasn't out on the water, he enjoyed tending to his garden, growing rhubarb to dip in sugar with his grandkids. In the winter months, he and his wife would travel to their winter home in Florida where he would spend the day either fishing or boating. Later in life, when he became a full time resident in his condo complex, he made strong friendships through his kindness towards neighbors. He will be missed by his family and countless friends.
A Memorial Service will be held for both George and Alice on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St, Worcester, MA. A luncheon will follow the service. All those whose lives were touched by George and Alice are welcome to attend.
