James Edward Lapinsky, affectionately known as Jim, was born on June 24, 1954 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. He began his journey in this world with a creative spirit that would flourish as he grew. Jim's career took a pivotal turn in 1979 when he established Jim Lapinsky Painting in Calgary, Alberta. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft ensured every task was done with care and precision.
Jim was a man marked by his innovative and adventurous nature. He was an ideas person, always eager to approach challenges with creativity. He connected with others easily, fostering lasting relationships in both his professional and personal life. His passions extended beyond his work to embrace his hobbies; Jim found joy in collecting and flying RC planes and helicopters among other hobbies that allowed him to use his naturally creative side.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lorie Lapinsky; son-in-law, Joe Elson; grandchildren, Cole Elson and Crystal Elson; and great-granddaughter, Adalynn Vickery.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Lapinsky; father, James Lapinsky; and his daughters, Amy and Lisa Lapinsky. He leaves behind a legacy of creativity, warmth, and humour, that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim Lapinsky passed away on December 6, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta. His life touched many, and he will be remembered fondly for his boundless creativity and the love he shared with his family and friends; both near and far.
Donations can be made in Jim's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date and the family invites you to contact Lorie for information on joining the celebration.
