George Lemond Obituary
He was the loving husband of Donna Lynn (Dreisch) Lemond. They celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on October 27th, 2025.
Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Sidney Lemond and the late Virginia (Groarke) Lemond.
George first began working on Wall Street in his younger years and later worked as a tractor trailer driver for Red Star and St. Johnsbury trucking companies. He finished his career as a school bus driver for Pleasant Valley School District, Brodheadsville, PA, and IU20 in Wind Gap, PA. George was a US Navy Veteran and was a member of the Teamsters Union #560 in Union City, NJ, and #773 in Whitehall, PA. He loved spending time on his boat at Lake Wallenpaupack and was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed bowling and taking trips to the casino. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. George will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his son, Michael Lemond and his wife Marie, Tommy Lemond, Ray Jensen and his wife Sammie; his daughters, Patricia Lemond-Vavrecan, Michelle Overpeck and her husband Ralph, Melissa Golas and her husband Steve, Heather Ott and her husband Ricky; his grandchildren: Michelle Lemond, Liam Lemond, Connor Lemond, Teagan Lemond, Kade Lemond, Bryce Lopez, Jimmy Lopez, Danica Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Vincent Golas, Anthony Golas, Brianna Golas, Haley Ott, Brody Ott, Trevor Ott, Vanessa Ott, Shelby Jensen, and Ellie Jensen. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife, Gwendolyn J. Lemond, a son, George Lemond, and two brothers, Daniel Lemond and Thomas Lemond.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 1:30 PM with Rev. Robert Simon officiating, followed by full military honors. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

George, you are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate.
