George Martin Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Bruce McKenzie will officiate the service.
A native of Gadsden, AL, he was a drywall finisher and a member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. David loved his family, his dogs Blue and Missy, helping people in need, and riding his motorcycle. Among many other things, David generally just loved living life to the fullest. David was an avid Alabama football fan... Roll Tide Roll!
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Martin; his step-father, James Biggs; his sister, Freda Martin Hawthorne; and his brother, Jimmy Biggs.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Sue Pearson Martin; his daughter, Shannon (Brian) Davidson; his son, Luke Martin; his 3 grandchildren, Devin Shearer, Chloe Shearer, and Lucy Martin; his mother, Quinelene Duke Biggs; his brother, Wade (Joanna) Biggs; his sister, Kim (Steve) Posey; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
