Mr. George R. Mayfield, Sr., age 86, of Stewart, TN, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at Patriot Health and Rehabilitation in Paris, TN.

Born on November 27, 1938, in Ironton, OH, George was the beloved son of William David Mayfield and Thelma May Spencer Mayfield. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, retiring after 20 years of dedicated and loyal service. Following his military career, George became the owner of Hwy 79 Mini Storage and enjoyed a simple life, spending time in the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Mayfield; his beloved wife of 67 years, Suzanne Mayfield; sons, James Michael Mayfield and Douglas Scott Mayfield; daughter, Tami Hargrove; two brothers; and one sister.

George leaves behind his cherished family, son and daughter-in-law, Goerge and Patricia E. Mayfield; grandchildren, Noah G. Mayfield, Douglas Foncree, Daniel Foncree, Steve Foncree, Sonya Williamson; 9 great grandchildren and brother, Ray Mayfield.

In honor of George's wishes, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to: Heart in Hand, Critters Hollow Ranch and Rescue; 475 Mossy Bluff Rd,
Stewart, TN 37175

A graveside service will be held at Mayfield Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:00 am with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, and online condolences may be shared at anglinfuneralhome.com.
