George A. Mazzetti

George A. Mazzetti, age 84, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.
George was born in Wilmington, DE on February 22, 1940, to Adolfo and Amelia Mazzetti. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1958 and Goldey Beacom College with a degree in accounting. He served in the Air National Guard as an Airman First Class.
He married his wife, Edwina in 1965 and they went on to celebrate 59 years of marriage in May.
George loved to tell jokes and play pranks on his family and friends. His children and grandchildren fondly remember his magic tricks and kind-hearted spirit. When his grandchildren were small, he frequented many local parks for a day out including Happy Meals and Burger King crowns.
He was an extremely talented photographer who took memorable family photos and amazing pictures of nature. George was an entrepreneur who owned several small businesses including candy stores, construction businesses and photography studios.
George was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Olga and Gloria, and brother Renzo.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina; daughters, Andrea Robinette (Jeff) and Dana Mazzetti; brother, Remo Mazzetti; sister, Lucia Shepherd; and brother-in-law, Gene Thomas (Anita); grandchildren, Marisa Chamness, Kristina Robinette, Luna Chamness, Michael Robinette, and Jenna Maslovich; and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Monday August 5th from 10 A.M to 11 A.M. with brief Words of Remembrance to be held at 11 A.M at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Donations in George's name can be made to the American Heart Association or Special Olympics Delaware.
