George Lewis McAnulty, 90, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Mr. McAnulty was born February 5, 1934 in Concord. He was the son of the late Grady L. McAnulty and Mary Hess McAnulty.
He is also preceded in death by Mary Blackwelder and Gene McAnulty, Sr.

He served 2 years in the US Army and was instrumental in organizing the Cabarrus County Saddle Club. He worked in construction and worked for Overnite Transportation as a superintendent maintenance supervisor for 19 years.

Lewis is survived by his beloved wife Annie of 72 years. He had two sons, Sherrill McAnulty and Dale McAnulty of Concord; two siblings, Betty Faye Clontz and Earl McAnulty.

Lewis enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, gardening and traveling. Most of all he loved his family and all of his grandchildren. He had 4 grandchildren, Tammie Turbeville, Stephen McAnulty of South Carolina, Felicia McAnulty and Jeremy McAnulty of Concord. He had 8 great-grandchildren, Taylor Huneycutt, Kassie Huneycutt, Olivia Huneycutt, Chandler McAnulty, Kelby McAnulty, Lacie Hill, Lillian Brooks and Melanie Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Brandon Gray and Pastor Robert Mayfield. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery at 5340 Flowes Store Rd, Concord.
