I talked to Mr. McNutt one time around 2010. He was very informative about the Viet Nam War and his service during that time.

I'm so sorry to hear of George's passing but so glad to have met him a few tamest St. Olaf and elsewhere. Prayers to his family and friends.

I volunteer for Meals on Wheels and George was one of my first clients when I started delivering 6-7 years ago. Right away I realized he was not a man of many words and the door was only cracked enough to get the meal in because he was afraid his cats might slip out. But over the years he became very dear to my heart with our short but insightful and often humorous conversations. We shared a love for cats and he often talked about his two, Gracie and Jorge. I learned that when he greeted me with "Top of the morning to you, madam" that the correct response was "and the rest of the day to you, Sir". Early on I discovered his love for corvettes and my husband (a corvette owner as well) started passing on his car magazines to George. I knew George was struggling with cancer since occasionally he would spend time in the hospital but for the last 6 months he seemed to be doing so well. I am glad he did not suffer long in the hospital. I just wanted his family to know how much I enjoyed getting to know George and that he will be greatly missed. Martha
