George M. Musser, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Born in July, 1944, George's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service.
George's journey began as a young man in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country. His commitment to service continued with his involvement in the Army National Guard. Throughout his life, George remained an active member of the American Legion and the Squires Club, contributing to his community and fellow veterans. His compassion for animals was evident through his support of the ASPCA, reflecting his kind-hearted nature.
For 20 years, George shared a life of love and adventure with his beloved wife, Kathleen Musser. They were married for 14 and a half years, creating a bond that was both strong and tender. George was a loving father to his only son, Troy (Trish) Musser, and a guiding presence in the life of his stepson, Steven Wiseman. His former wife, Sandy Musser, also remained a part of his precious family circle, and his legacy will continue with his only grandson, Alec.
George's interests painted the picture of a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He was an avid diver and snorkeler, often exploring the vibrant underwater world of the Caribbean alongside Kathleen. Cruising to destinations like St. Maarten and Aruba was among their cherished pastimes. On land, George was known for his ability to fix anything mechanical a skill that allowed him to start his first business in Ft. Collins, Colorado. George and his family moved to Florida in 1980 and bought Biff Burger in 1982.
His character was one of hard work and great integrity, a man for whom a handshake was as binding as any written contract. George's "old school" ideals were a hallmark of his personality, fostering respect and trust in all his relationships. He was lovable, with a warmth that drew people to him, and his loving nature made him a pillar in the lives of those he touched.
George will be remembered as a man of many virtues. His handy skills were matched only by his loving heart, and his presence was a source of comfort and reliability. He was a man who lived by example, showing that the values of honesty, commitment, and love never go out of style.
As we bid farewell to George M. Musser, we celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars guide sailors on a dark night. George's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
Due to the damage from Hurricane Milton, the Celebration of Life will be delayed until the Madeira Beach American Legion reopens. Updates will be posted here.
