George Peter Pantages, 85, of East Sparta, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Oct 28, 2024. He was born in Canton on August 12, 1939, to the late Peter and Helen (Christopoulos) Pantages. George graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. At Lincoln, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Brownfield, and they married on October 12, 1958. They enjoyed 59 years together until her passing in 2018. George worked for the Timken Co for 37 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of All Nations Tabernacle for 61 years, and he loved sharing the Acts 2:38 message to many throughout his life. George was a devoted husband and father, and his life revolved around the church and his family, including his canine companion, Mia. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
George leaves his children Debbie (David) Howell, Denise (Chris) Hyser, George Jr. (Kelly) Pantages, John (Cristina) Pantages, Tony Pantages, Chris (Heather) Pantages, and Danielle (Tom) Buchanan; grandchildren David, Desiree, Heather, Adam, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Luke, John Mark, Josh, Joey, Garon, Xenon, Helena, Phoebe, Jasiel, Anna Leah, and Julia; great grandchildren Natalie, Nicole, Marcus, Kallista, Keagen, Shane, Jocelyn, Josie, Hazel, and Wayland; and numerous much loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. A special thank you to Pastor Scott Kerr Sr., Dr. Anthony Degenhard, and home nurse Ande for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral service will be Saturday November 2 at 12:30pm at All Nations Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 3054 17th St. SW Canton, OH 44706 with Pastor Scott Kerr Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10:30-12:30 at the church. Please visit reedfuneralhome.com to send condolences
