Lilburn - George Edward Patton, Sr., known to just about everyone as "The General," passed away August 10, 2025, at the age of 80. After a brief NFL career, George worked as an executive for John H. Harland. Known for his wit, big heart, and love of golf, fishing, and poker, he was beloved by family and friends alike. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Houston Patton; and siblings Betty Sue, Huston, James, and Billy Bob. George is survived by his sister Patsy Nesbitt and brother-in-law Bobby; son George Jr. and daughter-in-law Anita; grandchildren Carter, Ryan, and Mary Wade. His last 25 years were made brighter by the companionship of Sandra King. George and my Friend and former co-worker Tom Upton were very close Friends for many years. Tom introduced me to George at our office in Atlanta back in 2005. George was a complete Gentleman. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting George. I spoke to George over the telephone 2 years ago. His kindness will not be forgotten by me. Rest in Peace George

George and I would drink a beer or two before track meets in the early 1960´s. He threw stuff & I sprinted ; it was a good strategy but my team always won. George was a breath of fresh air with a great sense of humor. James W Northington MD FACS FICS Florence,Alabama

I met George in Cedar Creek in Lilburn, Ga. in 1978, He was so amicable that I liked him immediately and always have. I moved away and we lost contact but I have many fond memories of him. May He R.I.P.

I'm sorry I'm unable to attend his service.
