George "Buster" Allen Reid, Jr., 72, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born on August 2, 1953, the son of the late George Allen Reid, Sr. and the late Leslie Gay Antoun Reid.
George dedicated over 40 years to owning and operating Reids Deli, a community staple where he was known not just for his delicious food but also for his warm spirit and engaging personality.
As a self-employed business owner and entrepreneur, George made a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of visiting his deli. His establishment was a gathering place where friends and neighbors came together to enjoy good eats and great company. George's infectious personality illuminated the lives of everyone he encountered; he never met a stranger and welcomed all with open arms and a warm smile.
Outside of his successful career, George enjoyed a life filled with passion and joy. He was an entertainer at heart, often found singing and dancing with an exuberance that brought happiness to those around him. A true sports enthusiast, George could often be seen watching his favorite teams compete, and he delighted in the friendly competition of playing golf. His most cherished moments were spent with his grandchildren, whom he adored and who brought immense joy to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife Angela Reece Reid; daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" (Thomas "TJ") Reid Powell; step-son, Jesse (Jill) Roberts; sister, Terry (Danny) Jackson; brother, Gregg (Debra Brattain) Reid; six grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Allen, Jake, James and Jaxson; two nieces, Amanda (Dave) Pritchett and Sadie Reid; and three nephews, Gregg Reid, Ricky Reid, and Cory Jackson.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. The Memorial services will follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.
George leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion, touching the lives of many, both through his professional endeavors and personal interactions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his vibrant spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
