George Semple Obituary

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 12, 2024. George was the devoted husband of Barbara (nee Morgan); adoring father of Vickie (Jim) Melson, Susan (Frank) McCormick and George (Lucy) Semple, III; cherished grandfather of 8 (Katie Melson, Kristie Melson, Erin McCormick Kelly, Kyle McCormick, Shannon McCormick, Andrew Semple, Justin Semple and Megan Semple) and great grandfather of 6 (Campbell Leslie, Sophie Leslie, Ashley Wells, Quinn Wells, Lilah Zayas, James Kelly III).
George was a faithful longtime member of Haddonfield United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the Army as part of the 101st Airborne.
During his working years he worked at RCA, was a Collingswood police officer, and a claims manager with PSE&G.
He was an award-winning wood carver who specialized in songbirds.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet George's family on Sat. April 20th from 10-10:45am at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd, Haddonfield, NJ.; where his service will follow at 11am. Interment will take place at Haddonfield Methodist Cemetery in Haddonfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in George's name may be made to Haddonfield United Methodist Church at the above address or Samaritan Hospice (Samaritan Gift Processing Center, PO Box 71425, Philadelphia, PA 19176-1425).
