Obituary of George Owen Southworth, Jr.
George Owen Southworth, Jr., 77, husband of Nola Southworth, passed away, Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Mary Helen Henderson and George O. Southworth, Sr on September 30, 1944. Mr. Southworth was a Forklift Operator for TOPY and recently worked for Kroger. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathryn Southworth Borgel (David), Bradley James Southworth (Christina), Katherine Louise Christopher (Rick), and Garrett Wesley Metts; grandchildren, Laura Barker Johnson (Chris), Kaylan Borgel Ball (Cam), William Owen Southworth and Annabelle Louise Southworth; great grandchildren, Kaden Johnson, Aaron Johnson and Cooper Wayne Ball; sisters, Brenda Rodgers (Chuck), Beverly Casteel (Danny), and Darlene Hopkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Killis Sinkhorn.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022 at Forks Of Elkhorn Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Ryan Casteel, Brad Travis, Todd Travis, Blair Tate, Travis Hopkins and Nathan Metts. Honorary casketbearers will be, Bill Willis, Berry McDonald, David Borgel, Rick Cammuse, Shorty Cole and Roy Metts. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church Building Fund and Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators.
