George William Spranger, age 91 of Harrison Township, Michigan, passed away in the evening hours of June 16, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1933 in Detroit, MI to the late Cornelius and Eleanor (Stelt) Spranger. For nearly 7 decades, he was married to his beloved Patricia J. (Peterman); the two were wed August 14, 1953 until her passing on July 24, 2022.
George could often be found in the comforting waters, either on a boat or a dock, fishing. He was an avid supporter of the local Detroit teams. He also enjoyed both deer and pheasant hunting.
His legacy lives on through his three children Lorraine (Michael) Gardiner, David (Paula) Spranger, and Susan (Dirk) Prevost. He was the proud Papa of Katie (Kevin) Fowler, Chelsea (James) Fick, Emily Spranger, and Sara (Frank) Bartolomeo. Beloved great-grandfather of Charlotte and Otto. Cherished brother of Roy (Dora) and William Spranger. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his parents Cornelius and Eleanor.
Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mt. Clemens on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 1:00-5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 with the Rev. William Lawrence officiating. George will be entombed next to his wife at Christian Memorial Gardens, Rochester Hills on Monday, June 23.
