George Stapleton Obituary
George Douglas "Doug" Stapleton Sr, 87, of West Monroe Mr. Stapleton was born May 20, 1937 in Riverton, Louisiana and passed away at West Monroe Guest House July 21, 2024. He was a member of Liberty Grove Church of God. George served four years with the United States Army before receiving an honorable discharge.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vines Stapleton and Oralee Shirley; wife, Martha Mae Hall Stapleton; son, George "Joe" Stapleton, Jr; grandson, Robert Douglas Stapleton; son-in-law, Tony Lapietra; and two sisters.
George is survived by his two sons; Randy Stapleton, Sr and wife Roberta, Zac Stapleton; five daughters, Ann Stapleton, Lore Stapleton, Stephanie LaPietra, Becky Leggett and husband Paul, and Melissa Hamilton and husband Garey; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters; Lottie Brown and Wanda Dickey Stapleton; host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Darrin Lenard, Carl "Bo" Coates, Norman Almond, Steven LaCourse, Joey Hutson and James Warner. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
A special thanks to the staff of Elara Hospice Care and West Monroe Guest House especially recognizing Roger and PJ, nurse Jamie his best friend.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remember your loved one today and always. He was a kind soul with always a smile on his face and happy to sit and talk awhile . We need not worry about him as he is now in heaven where happiness abounds. Will keep family in my prayers as it is always sentimental to lose someone you care about.

He was talking with Roger about "guy" stuff and I came in and he started busting out laughing. He wouldn't tell me but kept apologizing even though I didn't here. He was the most beautiful soul. I will forever miss my best friend
