George L Wise, 95, of Wooster, passed away peacefully February 5, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
George was born July 14, 1929 in New Philadelphia to Luther and Maggie {Kurth} Wise.
He married Shirley Zellner on September 25, 1954 in Willard. She survives.
George was a lifelong dairy farmer and retired from Okey’s Alignment after many years of service. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church as well as West Salem Lodge # 398 F&AM. George was also a member of the American Jersey Cattle Association. He enjoyed coon and mushroom hunting, pitching horseshoes, reading, and playing softball. George loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.
George will be deeply missed by his wife; children Dennis (Susan) Wise, Garald Wise, Beth Ann (Tim) Zimmerman and Sherrill Wise; 10 grandchildren; 14 (and 1 on way) great-grandchildren; a brother Kenny (Nancy) Wise and sister Hazel Willett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Wendy Johnson Wise, and siblings Jim, Charles, Ross, Roy, Fred, Frank, John, Gertrude, and Elsie.
Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m at the Salem Cemetery, 5167 Canaan Center Rd, Wooster with Tim Barrage officiating. Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
