George Woodard Obituary
George William Woodard , 67 went to eternal HOME to be with Jesus and family members on Monday November 10, 2025. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Born in Jackson County son of the late Verley and Christine Burnette Woodard. He was preceded in death by Lewis Woodard(brother) Sandra Bradley (sister) nephews Jamie, Cody and Joseph.
George loved his family and loved to make everyone laugh. Until his declining health, he loved to garden, grow beautiful flowers and cook. He is survived by siblings Barbara Johnson(Raymond),Rachel Woodard, Troy Woodard(Bernice), Irene Welch(Doug), Pauline Ledford (Jim), Thelma Angel(Doug), Foreman Bradley and many 8 nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A memorial service will be Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Appalachian Funeral Home in Sylva NC at 2pm. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Reverend Eddie Stillwell will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
