Georgia Jordan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oltmann Funeral Home - Washington on Sep. 3, 2025.
Georgia Ann Jordan (nee' Durham) was born in Ironton, Missouri on July 5, 1948 to George Durham and Lois Jean Durham (nee' Tierney). She passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at her home in Villa Ridge, Missouri surrounded by her family.

Georgia graduated in 1966 from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, Missouri. She celebrated her 18th birthday that year and two days later, on July 8, 1966, she married George Jordan. Two short weeks later, George and Georgia traveled to Germany where George was stationed. After living in Germany for some time, George was deployed to Vietnam and Georgia returned home to Missouri. Their union was blessed with their two children, Yvonne and Wesley, who quickly became their whole world. Georgia assisted George with his bookkeeping for many years but she eventually began working for the Walmart in Union, Missouri as an overnight stocker. She retired from Walmart after 13 years and went on to enjoy her retirement.

In her spare time, Georgia enjoyed a number of different hobbies. She loved reading, especially romance novels with her favorite author being Nora Roberts. She also loved knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint, creating beautiful pieces that she loved to share with others. She could also often be found watching old movies, particularly westerns with John Wayne. George and Georgia bought a camper which they kept at Mark Twain Lake. George insisted it be a nice big camper so Georgia wouldn't feel cramped. She loved going camping in their camper and spent many happy times there with George and their family. Georgia will be remembered for her deep love for her family.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George Durham and Lois Jean Durham.

She is survived by her husband, George Jordan; daughter, Yvonne Jordan of Villa Ridge; son, Wesley (Kara) Jordan of Union; three grandchildren, Kyle Peterson, Alaina Jordan, Adam Jordan; step-brother, Tommy Webb; sister-in-law, Debbie Durham; and many other cherished family members and friends.

Visitation for 77-year-old Georgia Ann Jordan will take place Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am with burial immediately following. All services will take place at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington.

The Jordan family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
