Georgianna Johnson

Mansfield: Georgianna Simpson Johnson Passed into the Lord's care Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. She was 101.
Born Georgianna Simpson on October 29, 1923 at home on Koogle Road to parents Morris and Maude Simpson, she graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1942. In 1944 she received a certificate of graduation from the U.S. Army Air Force at the Depot in Shelby, and in June of the following year went to Washington, D.C. to work in the Pentagon as a clerk typist and correspondent in the Adjutant General's Office. After a year there, she returned to home and worked for Kelly Girls for many years. She retired from Sam's Club in Ontario in 2006, where she worked as a sampler hostess.
She is survived by her daughter Saundra (Ed) Keller of Mansfield, sons Walter (Irene) Johnson of Sunbury, and John Johnson of Shelby; grandchildren David (Jessica) Johnson of Lexington, Carol (Jonathan) Stroup of Mansfield, and Rachel (Scott) Evans of Mansfield; step grandchildren Renee (Bryan) Hopkins of Ontario, Jerracca Leslie of Shelby, Samantha (Andrew) Kent of Defiance, Joshua Potts of Shelby, and Clarissa Gurik of Shelby; great grandchildren Tori Adams, Kaleb Evans, Nathan Evans, Hannah Evans, and Rayson Evans, eight step great grandchildren; a nephew Robert Race of Mansfield, great nieces Joy Race and Jamie Race.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Alden Johnson in 1991. Also deceased are her brother Walter Simpson and sister Frances Race.
The Johnson family will receive guests Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1-3 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where her funeral service will be held Monday, March 10 beginning at 11 am. Rev. Dr. Jim Carder will speak. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
