Georgina Delano, 85, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at her home, in Battle Creek. She was born on October 29, 1939, the daughter of Gordon and Luella C (Heffner) McLeod, in Detroit, Michigan.
Georgina went to Catholic middle school in Detroit, and then Redford High School. She moved to battle Creek when her younger. She loved to cook, and she made an amazing apple pie. She looked forward cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed going on boat rides on Torch lake with her family. Georgina would take her kids out on the boat, she packed lunches and made an entire day out there all day.
Georgina is survived by her children, Katherine Scott of Albion, MI, Son, Ricky Gariepy, Battle Creek, MI, and Daughter, Nancy Nesbitt of Battle Creek, MI. Siblings; Jeanette Stratton, Richard "Joe" McLeod, Mary Cane. Grandchildren; Joseph, Annie, James, William, Amanda, and Christopher. 8 Great-Grandchildren, and two Great-Great-Granddaughters. 13 Nieces and nephews, and a special mention of Teresa Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Gordon Mcleod, Mother, Luella C McLeod, Husband, Richard Edward Gariepy, son, Michael Charles Gariepy, Brother-in-law, Fred Cane, and Nephew James McLeod.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2435 Territorial Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
