Tonya Maria Rop, 57, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at her home. She was born on January 17, 1968, in Fort Lee, Virginia, the daughter of Russell Dean Mann and Charlotte June (Hancock) Jones.
Tonya graduated from Gull Lake High School with the Class of 1985. It was there that she met and married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Rodger Rop who preceded her in death in 2007. She worked many years at Meijer in Battle Creek and met several good friends and customers that she cherished. Tonya was a hard-worker and always made sure her family was well taken care of. She loved to play BINGO with her father at the casino and was an exceptional card player. Tonya enjoyed taking drives in her car, getting lost in a good book, loved baking and cooking with her grandchildren, sitting with her feet in the sand and water and never missed a Detroit Lions football game. Tonya's world revolved around her daughter and grandchildren, she adored them so much and loved to spend time with them making memories and watching each of them grow.
Tonya is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Pedro) Morales; grandchildren, Ariannah Morales, Olivia Morales, Pedro Morales, Jr.; mother, Charlotte Jones; and her beloved cat companion, Simba.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Mann; husband, Rodger Rop; and brother, Samuel Mann.
At this time cremation has taken place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calhoun County Animal Shelter, 165 Union Street South, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
