Gerald Warren Aman

Gerald Warren Aman, beloved husband, father, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy, passed away on August 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, wisdom, and quiet strength. Known to many as "The Clock Man," Gerald was a gifted clocksmith and proud owner of Aman's Clock Shop, where he spent countless hours repairing and restoring timepieces with care and precision.
A true jack of all trades, Gerald could fix just about anything. His hands were never idle, and he passed that same work ethic on to his daughters. Practical to the core, he approached life with patience, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple things. He had the patience of Job, a steady spirit in a busy world.
Gerald was a man's man-strong, dependable, and unwavering in his commitment to his family. He always took care of his precious family and would meet any of their needs. He was incredibly proud of his family and made sure they always knew it. Gerald loved and adored his wonderful wife; they had been together since they were 15 years old and shared a bond that spanned more than seven decades. His devotion to Barbara was a shining example of lifelong love.
He was also a man of deep faith who loved Jesus and lived his life grounded in that love. Gerald enjoyed life and lived it well. He was the best husband, dad, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. His clock collection was only matched by the timeless love he gave to his family.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to tick on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Aman and Bessie Warren Aman. He is also preceded in death by his aunt, Kathleen Warren Jackson.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Barbara Sasser Aman; children, Yvonne Aman Ball, and Patricia Aman Tyndall and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Alexander Warren Ball, Garrett Ryan Ball and wife, Laura Grace, Logan Tyndall Thompson and husband, Matt, and Marisa Tyndall; great-grandchildren, Noah Ball, Nathan Thompson, Thad Thompson, and Adalae Jane Thompson.
The family will receive friends at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. A service to celebrate Gerald's life will be held at 12 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park.
