Gerald W. Bailey, 83, St. Marys, WV, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Born in Pleasants County, WV, on August 14, 1940, he was a son of the late Richard W. and Glady E. Scadden Bailey. He retired from the former Colin Anderson Center, and previously worked for WV State Road, and Monongahela Power. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, St. Marys, WV. He loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Fay L. Sparks Bailey; four children, Tammy Smith, William G. Bailey, Gerald W. Gary, and Angel Granger; two step-children, Lucy Taylor, and Melissa Lauer; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Patricia Wright, Dian Bailey, Deloris Jackson, and Sharon Metz; and one brother, Jimmy Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Patsy, Lucille, and Carolyn, and one grandson, Stanley Smith, Jr.
Funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Friday. March 1, 2024 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Mark Wilding officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Island Cemetery. Friends may from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
