Gerald Ann Cattles Bailey, 75 of Ridgeville, South Carolina, who firmly believed "you got to do what you got to do when you got to do it"-just not right now-has finally decided it was time.
Born November 18, 1949, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George Homer Cattles and Louise Anderson Cattles. Ann was the purveyor of old tales.
She leaves behind her daughter Angela Kinard (Gary), grandchildren Christopher Landrum, Bradley Landrum, and Raymond Hollingsworth III; a brother, George Cattles; more great-grandchildren than anyone could successfully count; and one very special friend Rob Kenney who heard more old stories than most historians.
She is reunited with her infant son and husband David Bailey, who is no doubt bracing himself for the same beloved stories all over again. She lived life with a stubborn charm, and a fondness for repeating the tales that shaped her world. She will be dearly missed, and her sayings will echo lovingly (and frequently) through the generations.
No services are planned at this time.
The arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main Street, Paris, KY. The online guestbook is at www.Lusk-McFarland.com and a 24-hour funeral information line can be reached by calling 859-987-4387.
