Gerald Wayne Bird

Gerald Wayne Bird, age 63, of Bedford, Kentucky, formerly of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Bedford Springs Health and Rehab Center in Bedford. Born January 25, 1960 in Carrollton, Kentucky, he was the son of Jack and Willena Ann (Colbert) Bird.
Mr. Bird retired from the City of Madison having worked for the city's street department and sewage plant. He was an avid UK fan, and enjoyed fishing, watching eagles fly, collecting eagle art, and anything to do with Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include two sisters: Jacanna Mahoney and her husband, Tom of Bedford, and Cindy Bird of Florence, Kentucky; one brother, Larry Bird and his wife, Tricia of Madison; and several nieces and nephews: Jarrod and Jill Mahoney of Milton, Kentucky, Leslie and Matt Tackett of Berea, Kentucky, Stephanie and Brad Ryan of Florence, Sean and Holly Easton of Florence, and Sean and Krista Bird of Frankfort, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, the former Donna Anderson, to whom he was married on July 27, 2004 in Carrollton, and who passed away on November 13, 2015.
The Reverend Gregg Fisher will conduct the funeral services.
