Gerald F. Crommett, 90, of Woodstock, formerly of Huntley, passed away July 6, 2025, at JourneyCare in Barrington.
He was born June 19, 1935, in Cooperstown, N.D., the son of Edgar and Vera (Marrs). Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean war serving from 1955-57. After his first wife, Vivian, passed he found love again and married Connie Powers on May 27, 2006, at Del Web Sun City in Huntley. Gerald worked for many years in the tool & die industry for Caterpillar. He loved golfing, woodworking, and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; two children, Todd (Hope) Crommett, and Susan (Rex) Mason; seven grandchildren, Lindsey (Daniel) Singletary, Olivia (Robert) Hall, Allison, Josie, Maggie, Sophie, and Greggory Crommett; one great granddaughter, Indie Hall; four stepchildren, Gordon (Christy) Powers, Dennis (Anne) Powers, Julia Powers, and Amy Powers; twelve step-grandchildren, and five step-great grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Vera Crommett; wife, Vivian; infant son, Bradley; one brother, and two sisters; and stepdaughter, Kathleen Nordin.
Graveside services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora.
