Gerald "Gerry" Davis, 83, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor DT Rawerts officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. The service can be viewed here.
A time for fellowship and lunch will follow the service at the church hall.
Burial will be in Raymond, SD, at a later date.

Gerald “Gerry” Walter Davis, son of Walter and Albina (Mednansky) Davis, was born on July 7, 1942, in Turton, SD. He graduated from Raymond High School in Raymond, SD, in 1960. Gerry continued his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1965. He began his employment with the SD Department of Labor as an Employment Representative in Watertown, SD, on May 25, 1965.
Gerry was united in marriage to Donna Jeanne Hass on June 20, 1965, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Chuch in Raymond, SD. They made their home in Watertown until 1972, then moved to Aberdeen, SD.
After several promotions and a transfer to the SD Department of Labor in Aberdeen in 1972, Gerry became the manager of the Benefits Section for the Unemployment Insurance Division in 1982. Gerry had been responsible for processing unemployment claims filed by workers across South Dakota. Gerry retired June 30, 2010, after 45 years of dedicated public service.
Gerry enjoyed traveling, playing golf and softball, and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Donna; children: Sandra (Nick) Dahlke, Susan (Brent) Parkinson, and Ryan (Becky) Davis; grandchildren: Matthew (fiancé Laura Bruggenthies) Schulz, Noah (fiancé Katie Gearing) Willgohs, Christian Willgohs, Emily Parkinson, Miranda Parkinson, Spencer Parkinson, Jake Davis, and Chase Davis; brothers Donald (Virginia) Davis and Duane Mowery; brother in law Francis Hass; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Albina; stepfather, Bernard Mowery; sisters: Alyce Davis, Dorothy Moment, Betty Habben, and Evelyn (Virgil) Miller; father- and mother-in-law, Henry and Alma Hass; sister-in-law, Debby Hass; nephew, Brian; and niece, Melinda.
