Preceded in death by his wife, Judith Downes; brothers, Jack, Thomas, and James Downes. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Gibbs; sons, Mark Singleton and Lawrence Pyle; former wife, Virginia "Tinker" Denson; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, November 27th, at 2pm at Nashville National Cemetery.
