Gerald R. Evans, 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2025.
Born in Canton, he was a resident of Green. He graduated from Marlington High School and continued his education, graduating from Malone College and The University of Akron. Jerry served in the National Guard and retired from Field Local Schools after 38 years of employment. He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church, enjoying all the activities put on there. But most of all, he loved being with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Evans He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra A. Evans; sons, Jason (Jessica) Evans and Jonathan (Mallory) Evans; grandchildren, Joey, Jett, Lyle, Cyril; and brother, Ed (Kim) Evans.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, January 3rd from 10am to 12pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Funeral service will be held at 12pm with Pastor Bob Weiss presiding. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd. Akron, OH 44312.
