Gerald Joseph Ford Sr.

Gerald Joseph Ford Sr., a beloved figure in his community and cherished family man, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on May 21, 1940, Gerald dedicated his life not only to his career as a technician at Tuboscope but also to his family, whom he loved dearly.Gerald was the proud father of Denise Russell (Tony), Gerald Ford Jr. (Carla), and Ronnie Ford Sr. (Kim) and brother of Gloria Dufrene. He delighted in the role of grandfather to Donald, Ronnie Jr., Jason, Katelynn, Katie and Trey and was also a great-grandfather of 14 and great-great grandfather of 1. His legacy continues through his family, which expanded with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly. Throughout his life, Gerald held a strong commitment to his community and was particularly proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus in Westwego, LA. This organization was a significant part of his life, reflecting his values of service and community. Gerald is predeceased by his beloved wife Patsy Ford, whose loss was deeply felt. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Moise Ford Sr. and Velma Ford, and his sister Diane Larousse and his brother Moise Ford Jr., all of whom he held close in his heart.Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on January 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Marrero - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA. A Mass will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, starting at 12:00 PM, with interment taking place at Holy Angels Cemetery at 1:15 PM.Gerald Joseph Ford Sr. will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved deeply and contributed significantly to his community.
