Gerald "Jerry" F. Fowler age 74 of West Yarmouth died Jan.1,2025 unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry grew up and lived in Rockland & Abington. He Also graduated from Abington High School in 1969.After High School Jerry would visit the Cape frequently, which eventually led to the meeting of the love of his life Eileen. They married in 1975 and were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary which would have been July 26,2025.
Jerry and Eileen moved to the Cape in 1980 after purchasing their first home in Hyannis. This is where Jerry began his career with Nauset Marine in Orleans, while working here he mastered his trade of fiberglass work for almost 30 years. Jerry semi-retired from the fiberglass position in 2010 and moved into a customer service role in the same boating industry. He loved his new position where he became well known and loved by so many. Jerry fully retired in 2016 after 40 years in this industry.
Jerry had many of hobbies which he and his family referred to as him "tinkering around." Some of which included his love of model cars, building them from scratch, painting them and putting them on display. Yard-saling, cookouts with family, listening to country music and most of all spending time with family his 5 children and 13 grandchildren.
Jerry was the pioneer also of a spectacular Christmas display every year on Beth Lane in Hyannis. He drew out figures on wood then painted them, cut them out and put them on display in the front yard each year. Along with this he put up thousands of lights to try and brighten anyone who would come see them including families, friends, tour buses etc. His son has started this year trying to keep this tradition alive which will hopefully live on for many years to come.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Eileen Fowler of almost 50 years and their beloved furbaby "daughter" their 12 year old puggle Daisy Mae. He is also survived by his 5 children. Daughter Wendy Chase of New Bedford, Son Bill Chase & Wife Inga Chase of Yarmouthport, son Kenny Fowler of South Dennis, son Derek Fowler & Wife Jillian Fowler of West Yarmouth and daughter Michelle Fowler of West Yarmouth.
Jerry is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren.
Jerry leaves behind 4 sisters Ginnie Burn of Abington, Joyce McDonald of Rockland, Nancy Prescott of North Carolina, Sue Faux of Falmouth. Jerry is pre-deceased by 2 brothers Kenneth & Roy Fowler.
Visiting hours will be held Friiday, January 10 2025, from 4-6 PM with a Memorial Service to be held at 5:30 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Morris O'Connor Chapel, 58 Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth.
