Nancy E. (Harris) LaPointe, 73, passed away on June 28, 2025, after a lengthy and courageous fight with Parkinson's Disease. She was the wife of Philip "Buddy" LaPointe. Jr. of Plymouth. Nancy was the loving mother of son Philip D. LaPointe and his wife, Doreen, daughter, Mary Ellen McKeen and her husband, Jeffrey, and her daughter Karen Hackett and her husband, Chuck, all of Plymouth. Nancy was the cherished grandmother to Nathan, Paige and Daniel LaPointe, Emily, Ryan and Maya McKeen, and Cameron Sullivan. She was also the dear sister of Jonathan Harris and his wife, Ellen, and predeceased by her brother, James Harris, and his wife, Nancy. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well.
Nancy grew up in Abington, MA, and graduated from Abington High School in 1970. She was a star athlete in field hockey, basketball, and softball. Nancy was also a skilled water skier. She spent her summers at Cozy Dell on Great Herring Pond. She loved the pond so much, she bought a house on the pond in 1973.
After settling in Cedarville, Nancy opened Home Video Entertainment in 1983. She owned and operated Home Video for nearly 25 years. When Home Video closed, Nancy began in sales for Verizon Wireless. She was a top saleswoman, winning trips to Hawaii and Switzerland.
And although Nancy was extremely proud of her careers, her family was always the most important part of her life. She was her children's biggest supporter, and she was her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. You could always find her on the sidelines of football games, cross country meets, basketball games, track meets, softball games, dance recitals, and award ceremonies. Sunday night dinners with the whole family were always the highlight of the week. There was never a day her family did not know how much they meant to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mezza Luna in Buzzards Bay, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's memory to her family's fundraising page (The Lollygaggers) for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research walk in October: https://give.michaeljfox.org/team/653948.
Or checks may be mailed to Sunset Hospice Services, 25 Wareham St., Suite 2-26. Middleboro, MA 02346.
