Shain Scott La Pointe was born on August 30, 1985, to John Kennedy La Pointe and Cheri Gallegos. He spent his formative years in NW Washington, dividing his time between Swinomish with his paternal family and Puyallup with relatives from both sides.
Shain was known for his infectious smile and ability to bring laughter to those around him. His interactions were characterized by thoughtfulness and kindness, as well as a steadfast willingness to help others. Shain was fearless and lived life to the fullest. He was a skilled carpenter with a commendable work ethic, having been employed by California Closets and more recently Alexander Exhibits. The two greatest loves of his life were his daughter, Jaedyn, and his passion for skating.
Shain passed away at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, NV, on June 4th, 2025. He is survived by his daughter, Jaedyn MacKensy Rose La Pointe, and her mother, Amanda Chambers; his mother, Cheri; his father, John; his sisters, Stacy, Stephanie, Krista, and Sasha; his brothers, Jermaine, Sean, and Beau; his other mother, Jill; his grandmother, Faye; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A wake and viewing will be held on Friday, June 20th, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Puyallup Funeral Home located at 3507 E McKinley Ave, Tacoma, WA. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21st, at the Swinomish Social Services Building located at 17337 Reservation Rd, La Conner, WA 98257.
