Jerry Gass [Gerald Henry Gass], age 67, passed away on December 22, 2024, at his home in Phoenix, AZ. He survived a considerable time while battling a chronic, terminal lung disease. He was born in Phoenix, the son of Charles Bernard Gass Sr. and Nina Trewhella Whitehall Gass. Jerry graduated from Bourgade Catholic High School, then attended Glendale Community College and Arizona State University. He retired after many years with the City of Phoenix, Parks Recreation and Library Department. His interests led him to be a referee for youth basketball leagues and school basketball events. He is survived by his daughter and seven siblings as the youngest of ten children; he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14th, from 11 AM - 12 PM with a memorial service following at 12 PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018. A private, family interment ceremony will be held St Francis Cemetery after the service. Thanks to all who knew and loved him, members of his large extended family and friends.
