Gerald Robert Haeck

Gerald Robert Haeck of Grand Ledge passed away on January 1, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born January 21, 1935, in Westphalia Township to the late Gerald T. and Rita T. (Kolp) Haeck. He graduated from Resurrection High School in the Class of 1953 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jerry worked in the trades as an Electrician for General Motors retiring in 1997, after 40 years. He was a longtime faithful member of St. Michael Parish and also the Knights of Columbus Council 7311. Jerry was a talented woodworker and showcased his creativity and talent through the items he made. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by the many lives that he touched.
He is survived by his daughters, Julia A. (Rick) Prins, and Rita M. Haeck; granddaughters, Alyssa and Sydney; siblings, Karen Sue (Steven) Roe; Robert L. (Carol) and James H. (Carmen) Haeck along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine J. in 2012 and siblings, Bernadette E. Coe, Jean Ann Tanner, Kathleen M. Dell, Larry J., and William A. Haeck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge by Father James Eisele. Interment with military honors will follow at Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM (with a Rosary at 7:30 PM) at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. There will be additional visitation Friday at the church from 10-11:00 AM prior to mass. Memorial contributions in Jerry's name may be given to St. Michael Catholic Church, 345 Edwards Street, Grand Ledge, Michigan 48837, or McLaren Hospice and Home Care Foundation, Attn: Donations, 1515 Cal Drive, Davison, Michigan 48423.
