Gerald Taylor Hay passed away on June 3, 2025 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Gerald was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 20, 1942 to Robert Glenn and Ollie Pearl Hay. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. Early in his career, Gerald taught in the Shawnee Mission School District. He started working for the Internal Revenue Service in 1971 and worked there for 32 years holding several positions before retiring in 2003.
Gerald enjoyed reading and traveling with his wife and friends and toured over 30 countries and numerous states.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years (married in 1983) Rose Perryman Hay, nephews Robert and Bradley Hay and several great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert G. Hay, Jr. and nephew William Hay.
In lieu of flowers, it was Gerald’s wish that donations be made to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
