Gerald Keith Hubler

Gerald Keith (Jerry) Hubler, 82 of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away after a short battle with brain cancer.
He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Ralph & Marie Hubler, stepmother, Irene Hubler, and Brother Jack Hubler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dianne Hubler. Lovingly remembered by sons, Matthew, daughter-in-law Carmen Hubler, Aaron, daughter-in-law, Dawn Hubler, David Hubler, and daughter Julie Peters. Grandchildren Brandi Russell and Derrick, husband, Taylor Hubler, Hayden Hubler, and Madison Hubler. Sister-in-law Edna (Tudie) Hubler, Nephews Steve, Jeff, Greg, Brad Hubler and their families.
Jerry was born July 13th, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His mother Marie passed away when he was still very young. He was raised by his father and stepmother (Mom). He attended Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, where he wrestled. He also won the 1959 112lb. Cedar Rapids' City Golden Glove tournament. After which he spent 4 years in the US Marine Corp, stationed in 29 Palms Ca. and Hawaii. Shortly after that, he started his career at the Rock Island railroad. He spent nearly 50 years in the transport field. He started out switching train cars on the railyard, then clerked for a short time before moving into the sales department. Jerry worked at several transport companies along the way, Mark 7, Alliance Shippers, Excell Transport, and Mode Transport, where he retired as a regional sales manager.
He loved spending time with his family. He was an avid supporter of his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes; football, wrestling, and men/women's basketball, if they were competing, he was watching. He also lived by the motto "Once a Marine, always a Marine". Jerry and Dianne owned homes in the North Carolina and Georgia mountains, where they could escape and relax in nature. Jerry was a hard worker, holding down 3 different jobs at once when he and first wife Sandy (Knapp) started their family. He was also known to be a very generous man, giving of his time and assets. Later in life Jerry found the Lord Jesus as both savior and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
