Gerald N. Jackson

Gerald Nelson Jackson, 91, AKA "AJ" or "Action Jackson", passed August 13, 2025. He was born in Bellefontaine, OH to the late William Nelson "Bud" and Mildred (Lockwood) Jackson on June 25,1934. He married Sandra Jean Baker on June 25, 1953 and they later divorced but always remained friendly.
AJ was raised on a farm, where he spent 20 years working the land–a job he often said was the hardest he ever had, but one that shaped his work ethic for life. He graduated in 1953 from Zanesfield-Monroe High School and went on to further his education in what he proudly called the "School of Hard Knocks."
He began his career as a machinist toolmaker at various shops and later spent 15 years at General Dynamics from 1980 until his retirement in 1995. After retirement he enjoyed his regular visits to his favorite places, Bear's Den, Delite Cafe, Moe's, Sugar Street Bar & Grill and the Village Cafe. He was a fan of most sports and especially liked Nascar, Reds baseball and was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan. He also loved riding his Harley and was still riding at 90 yrs old.
Gerald is survived by his special lady of 36 years, Judy Piper of St Marys, daughter Laurie and son-in-law Larry Bales of Findlay. Daughters-in-law Carleen Jackson of Leo, IN and Diane Jackson of New Carlisle, four grandsons and three step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a brother D. Keith (Nancy) Jackson of West Liberty. He is preceded in death by sons Michael Kim Jackson and Randy Kyle Jackson and brothers Marvin L. Jackson, R. Duane Jackson, and Larry L. Jackson.
The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice and Lima Memorial nurses and aides on the 2nd floor for their kind and gentle care of Gerald during his last weeks. There will be no services.
