Gerald Mack Jenkins, age 82, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of faith, Gerald lived a life rooted in devotion to God, hard work, and love for his family. Born August 25, 1943, Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Reva and Mack Jenkins, and by his beloved son, Tim Jenkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie Jenkins; sons Matt Jenkins and wife Janet, with grandchildren Mary and Jacob, and Steve Jenkins, with grandchildren Jace and Seth; sisters Deanie Johnson (Bill) and Linda Nigg (Ron); and sister Bobbie Graham; sister-in-law Sharon Cockrum; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gerald and Margie were true high school sweethearts, beginning a love story that lasted more than six decades. They were everything to each other, inseparable partners whose devotion was the foundation of their family. Their marriage was filled with laughter, faith, and a bond so strong it inspired all who knew them. A master craftsman by trade, Gerald was the founder and owner of Gerald Jenkins Construction Company, where he built custom homes across Knoxville for decades. For more than thirty years, he worked side by side with his son Matt, who earned the nickname "Little Gerald" for the way he mirrored his father's work ethic, talent, and dedication. Together they built more than houses - they built a reputation for honesty, quality, and care that left a lasting mark on the Knoxville community. His craftsmanship was matched only by his integrity and commitment to his clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. Gerald's faith was central to his life and was a was a member of Concord United Methodist. He drew strength and guidance from his relationship with the Lord, living out his values through kindness, honesty, and generosity. His faith was a source of comfort to his family and friends, and he leaves behind a legacy not only of craftsmanship but of Christian love and devotion. Above all, Gerald will be remembered as the hardest working man we ever knew - one who truly believed in quality and in building nothing but the best. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Larry Pruitt and Robby Partin for their support along with a host of other friends and colleagues. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Rose Funeral & Cremation –Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
