GERALD (JERRY) STEVEN MORRISON 65 years old of Port St Lucie, Florida, formally of Maple Shade, NJ. Passed suddenly on March 11, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, (Diana) Lynn Morrison (nee Franklin), daughters Stephanie Morrison and Michelle Haferl (Thomas), precious granddaughter Ava Lynn, sister JoAnn Smith (Alan), nieces and nephews, and his dear father and best friend, Gerald Morrison. Predeceased by his mother Dorothy JoAnn Morrison.
Jerry was a graduate of Maple Shade High School, and graduated from Welder Training and Testing Institute as an advanced welder and pipe fitter. Jerry was a Master Service Technician employed for 40 years with Ingersoll Rand Corporation. He worked on industrial air compressors at locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. His talents included electrical, plumbing and mechanical, and was known for his remarkable ability in trouble shooting, the guy that could fix anything. He invented a Multi Blade Mulching Lawn Mower Blade, and had it patented.
Jerry loved working on his trucks, motorcycles and boat. In his younger years he rode dirt bikes and won 1st Place trophies racing in Hair Scrambles. When he wasn’t riding his bikes, he enjoyed boating and fishing in Cape May. His favorites were flounder and striper seasons, and tuna tournaments. Jerry loved the beach, and made yearly trips with his family to Assateaque Island.
In 2005, Jerry visited Port St Lucie with a friend. He loved the area and climate so much, that before he returned home, he contracted with a builder to build them a new home. That was the vacation home that he and Lynn visited regularly until their retirement in 2020. He called that his paradise, living his dream retirement.
Jerry was very motivated and believed in a strong work ethic. He often said that he had no regrets, and given the opportunity, he would not have changed anything in his life. He felt so privileged and fortunate. He was a loving father, husband and son, who would do anything for his family. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Viewing will be Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME , 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade, NJ. Funeral services will be private.
