Gerald "Jerry" Clark Lee passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in
Lansing, MI, at the age of 92. Born on July 5, 1933, Jerry's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, a generous spirit, and a vivacious sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met.
He was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School, class of 1951, worked for several years on his family's farm, met the love of his life, Lois, then embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver with Associated Truck Lines. Jerry had a strong work ethic, a love of the open road, and such an enjoyable personality that most of his customers thought of him as their friend.
Family was the cornerstone of Jerry's life. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Lois Lee, and a loving father to his children, Gene Bliesener, Jeff (Diane) Bliesener, and Kim (Bruce) Landstra. He was predeceased by his son Ronald Bliesener, his granddaughter Melisa Bliesener, and his daughter-in-law Mary Bliesener. Jerry's legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories created with him. Many of his grandchildren will especially treasure their memory of the "Grandpa Lee hug", meeting them at the door when they rang the doorbell, picking them up and wriggling them from side to side until they squealed with laughter, then setting them back down again.
Jerry was the beloved brother to his late siblings, Robert Lee, Phyllis Hunt, Roxanne Lee, and James (June) Lee. His life-long best friend, Jack Tallman, preceded him in death, leaving behind countless tales of their shared escapades. Jerry's extended family included several caring nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
An avid Michigan State University fan, Jerry bled green and white and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams. His love for life extended to simple pleasures, such as taking car rides, which allowed him to explore new sights and enjoy the beauty of nature (especially the cornfields). He was also known to enjoy chicken fingers at whatever restaurant he went to and a hot fudge sundae from Dairy Queen.
Jerry loved working in his lawn and his garden, where he cultivated not only plants but also joy and tranquility. His passion for woodworking and tinkering with little projects was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his creative spirit and his desire to constantly learn and grow. Jerry took great pride in his basement, where he finished a large room, filled it with things that he picked up at flea markets and antique stores, and had it decorated year-round for Christmas because family Christmases in the Lee basement were something that Jerry and Lois both treasured dearly.
Those who knew Jerry will remember him as a big family man with a heart that matched. His ability to love unconditionally and embrace everyone with open arms was a rare gift. Jerry's quick wit and talent for telling jokes made every gathering memorable, filling rooms with laughter and warmth. He was a wonderful man who lived his life with a kind heart and a loving touch, making every moment count.
The family would like to extend their tremendous gratitude to his caregivers and friends, Denise and Gary Haskell, Maureen Skopp, Melissa Lyon, Robin Kwilinski and Janet Hincher. They took care of him as if he was a member of their own family and it was an extreme blessing to have them involved in our lives.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. Donations can be made in loving memory of Jerry to the
