Gerald Mack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Lapeer on Apr. 27, 2022.
Gerald Lloyd Mack Sr., "Jake", age 73, a lifelong resident of Lapeer, passed away in the comforts of his home with his family at his side. He was born on March 19, 1949, to Harold and Madeline Mack in Brown City. Gerald graduated from Lapeer High School in 1967 and just a year later he married the love of his life, Linda Secord. Shortly after their marriage, Gerald was proudly enlisted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany until 1971. He worked for Lapeer County Road Commission with his father, and until his recent retirement in 2019, he drove semi-trucks in various forms. Gerald had a deep appreciation for muscle cars (especially Chevrolet) and most days you could find him in the garage, tinkering with his Harley or woodwork, in his cowboy boots and hat. John Wayne was a personal idol of his and it is very apparent when visiting the Mack household. Above all else his favorite things were; spending time with his family, being captain of road trips, and riding Harleys with his son, friends, and family. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 wonderful years, Linda Mack; daughter Kimberly (Jeremy) Pringle of Almont; son Gerald (Sonya) Mack Jr. of Imlay City; grandson Zachary 'Mack' Hoban of Imlay City; granddaughters Amber 'Smiley' (Logan) Bradley of Brown City, and Chelsee 'Half Pint' Mack of Imlay City; great grandchildren Tristain, Isabella, Isaac and Rayne; sister JoAnn Vanderlip; and his beloved four-legged friend Tito.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Madeline Mack, brother Larry Harold Mack and many friends and family.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date, please check the website for further updates.
Donations may be made to the Mack Family.
