Gerald J. Magrosky, 89, of Peachtree City, Georgia died November 22, 2025 peacefully at home with loved ones by his side. Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1936, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (Oleynik) and brother of the late Josephine, Edward and John. After graduating from McKeesport High School, he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959 then headed to school for computer programming. After a long career at Lawson Products in Des Plaines, Illinois, Jerry retired in 1998 and headed to Georgia for year-round golf and no more winter coats.

Jerry had a lifelong love of sports and stayed active. In retirement with a passion for golf, Jerry joined Cannongate Golf Club. He loved traveling to different courses for tournaments and golf outings and would play anywhere, anytime with friends and family. In 2008, he finally got his first Hole in One. Jerry was active in bowling leagues for many of his adult years and reached the pinnacle of the game by bowling a perfect 300. He also enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, riding roller coasters and traveling. The highlight of his international travels was a 3-week Viking Cruise to Russia for his 84th birthday.

He regularly visited family in Michigan, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Florida. Always the thrill seeker, his daughters took him to all the parks at Walt Disney World for his 70th birthday, for his 80th birthday he went with the family whitewater rafting in West Virgina and for his 85th birthday we all celebrated as he went skydiving and landed on Orange Beach. His grandchildren loved Grandpa could join them on so many adventures, family vacations, many milestones and visits. He was fully immersed in their lives. They also marveled at their grandfather's mastery of crossword and sudoku puzzles and the fact that Grandpa never missed sending a card for every occasion.

Jerry was a long-time member of St. Matthew's parish in Tyrone, Georgia and enjoyed many friendships with his involvement in Knights of Columbus and Housekeepers for the Lord. He truly enjoyed his final years living at his "62 and better" independent community where everyone always looks out for each other. He also met friends on the Kedron Lake golf cart trails where you could always find him walking daily and tracking his steps.

Jerry is survived by his dear twin sister Geraldine, his three children, Debra (Mark), Sandra (John) and Michael and three grandchildren, Kevin, Megan and Jonathan along with many nieces, nephews and family from Pennsylvania who know him as Uncle Buzzy. Jerry lived his life with purpose, planned intention, enthusiasm and a service heart. Recently, silent pancreatic cancer crept in without warning. Although he will be deeply missed, we are grateful that he peacefully entered Heaven.

The funeral mass is Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 215 Kirkley Road, Tyrone, Georgia 30269. Burial will take place at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama. The family requests donations in memory of Jerry be made to Gentiva Foundation (Hospice Care) at www.gentivahs.com. Heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Jerry and supported his family.

Dale and I always enjoyed his visits when he came down to attend Valspar Golf Championships at Innisbrook. We always stopped in to visit Uncle Buzzy on our road trips through Atlanta. He will be missed.

I always looked forward to his visits to PA when we were all young and in his older years when he was solo. I will miss his consistent yearly birthday and Christmas cards. He did way better at that than me. Rest with God, Unc, until we meet again. Love you. Val
