Lela Mae Smallwood Hansard, born on August 5, 1944, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 81. Her journey through life was marked by love and dedication to her family and friends.

Lela Mae is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry and Alice Smallwood, as well as her siblings Leroy Smallwood, William Smallwood, Pat Smallwood, PeeWee Smallwood, Mary Starnes (Ricky), Jack Smallwood (Tiny), and Bud Smallwood (Peggy). Their memories and legacies live on in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hansard. Lela Mae's legacy continues through her children: daughters Norma Williams (Rodney) and Cathy Davis, son Gerald Adams (Jamie), and stepchildren Angie and Brad. Her grandchildren Travis Williams (fiancée Andrea Bogenrief), Richard Williams, Nikki Williams, Tony Davis, Adrian Davis (significant other Lina), Jessica Pittcock (Cameron), Lindsey Adams, Katie Ann Carden, Taylor Carden, and Brittney brought immense joy to her life. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren Logan Williams, Aubrey Williams, Ansleigh Pittcock, A.J. Pittcock, Christopher Adams, and Jayden Dowdy, whose lives she touched deeply.

Her surviving sisters, Helen Davis (Rance), Barbara Keys, and Pauline Martin; and brother in-law Paul Keys to carry forward the shared bonds and cherished memories of their sibling.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home With Philip Edge and Marvin Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home.

Lela Mae's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her family and friends will hold her memory close, celebrating the life of a remarkable woman who brought light into their lives.
