With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Keith O'Brennan, lovingly known as "Papa G" to his two adoring grandchildren, on August 12, 2025. His life was one of kindness, encouragement, and endless curiosity.

Gerry dedicated his professional career to Missouri S&T and Brewer Science, where his intellect, work ethic, and easy-going nature left a lasting impact. But his legacy extended far beyond the workplace.

He never knew a stranger-every encounter was an opportunity for a warm smile, a good story, or a moment of encouragement. A man of deep faith, Gerry was never shy about sharing his beliefs, and he had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him.

Whether it was a leaky faucet or a piece of stubborn tech, Gerry could be counted on to fix just about anything. If he didn't know how, he'd "Gerry-rig" a way-and more often than not, it worked like a charm. His resourcefulness and willingness to help made him the go-to guy for questions of all kinds.

A lover of funky beats, strong coffee, and ambitious remodeling projects, Gerry brought joy and energy into every room he entered. His hands were always busy, his heart always full, and his presence a source of comfort and laughter.

He leaves behind a community of family, friends, and loved ones who will miss his wisdom, humor, and the way he made everyone feel seen and heard.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald A. O'Brennan and Patsy (Petters) O'Brennan; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Betty Belton.

Gerald will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Wendy (Belton) O'Brennan of Rolla, MO; a son, Shane O'Brennan and wife, Kacey of Pell City, AL; two daughters, Stefanie Weber and husband, Luke of Jefferson City, MO and Kelsey Ford and husband, Justin of Hazelwood, MO; one brother, David O'Brennan of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Teri Hargrove and husband, Kelly of Alamogordo, NM; a brother-in-law, Steve Belton and wife, Joy of St. Robert, MO; stepmother, Jan O'Brennan of San Antonio, TX; and two grandchildren, Madalyn Ford and Braxton Weber.

A funeral service for Gerald K. O'Brennan will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Greentree Christian Church in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Waynesville, MO. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 14 at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Greentree Christian Church or the Pregnancy Resource Center of Rolla.
