GERALD GRIFFIN SHEEHAN Jr.

SHEEHAN, Jr., Gerald Griffin Gerald Griffin Sheehan, Jr. of Watertown, MA, formerly of Lincoln, MA passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2026. He was born in Springfield, MA on November 30, 1937 to the late Gerald and Mary (Couig) Sheehan. Beloved husband of Brigid (Sullivan) Sheehan, his wife of 63 years. Devoted father of Gerald Sheehan (Kathleen) of Charlestown, MA, Caroline Sheehan of Watertown, MA, Stephanie Nick (Gregory) of Concord, MA, Katherine Bellaud (Marc) of Westboro, MA, and the late Patrick Sheehan. Loving grandfather of Brendan, Luke, Colin, Derek, Margaret, Anna, Eric and James. Brother of William Sheehan and the late John Sheehan. After graduating from the College of the Holy Cross in 1959, Jerry earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following his service in the Air Force, he dedicated over 40 years to practicing dentistry in Lowell, MA, a community he loved. In retirement, Jerry continued his commitment to service by joining the Ignatian Volunteer Corps for fifteen years with ten of those spent volunteering at Cristo Rey Boston High School. Jerry and Brigid traveled widely, benefiting from his meticulous trip planning and the joy of their time together. One of his best life roles was that of grandfather. A voracious reader, sports enthusiast, and art lover, he shared these passions with his grandchildren, even teaching them to ski and hitting the slopes with them until the age of 85. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill, MA on Friday, February 27th at 10 am. Visiting will start in the church at 9 am. Interment will be private.
